Beryl var. Goshenite - Pingwu, China

Contributed by: FMS Admin
Date: May 27th, 2026
Locality: Pingwu beryl mine, Huya township, Mount Little Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang, Sichuan, China (See on Mindat)

Description:
Never has one rock I posted created more controversy than this one. Card read: Beryl, Pingwu, Mt. Huebaoding, Sichuan, China. Trouble is, no one thinks beryl is fluorescent and tons of folks doubted both the material and origination. Research showed that beryl from Pingwu is indeed fluorescent (thanks Fluomin.org) and a scant few similar pieces had been posted online. Sticking with the story until proven otherwise. Shots are shortwave and natural. Assume the clear crystal is goshenite, the others just plain ole beryl.
