Fluorescent Mineral Database

A new secret project! Trying to create a nice Fluorescent Mineral Database (FMDB), which would be searchable by mineral, locality, and luminescence properties. Also making it easy for people to contribute with their own specimens!

Quartz Crystals on Calcite - San Antonio Mine, Chihuahua, Mexico

Contributed by: Mark Cole
Date: Apr 5th, 2026
Locality: San Antonio Mine, East Camp, Santa Eulalia Mining District, Aquiles Serdán Municipality, Chihuahua, Mexico (See on Mindat)
Size: 3 x 2 x 8 inches
Weight: 1.2 lb

Description:
Small delicate crystals of bright green fluorescing quartz are peppered around a matrix of calcite on this striking specimen. Not often we find quartz crystals fluorescing brightly like this. There are areas of dull blue fluorescence which are unknown. No response under MW or LW (perhaps a very dull green from the quartz under MW).
