Fluorescent Mineral Database

A new secret project! Trying to create a nice Fluorescent Mineral Database (FMDB), which would be searchable by mineral, locality, and luminescence properties. Also making it easy for people to contribute with their own specimens!

Pink Tugtupite, Chkalovite, Analcime - from the Taseq Slope, Ilimaussaq Complex, Greenland

Contributed by: FMS Admin
Date: Mar 9th, 2026
Locality: Taseq Slope, Ilímaussaq complex, Kujalleq, Greenland (See on Mindat)

Description:
This is a very nice piece of tugtupite from the Taseq Slope (east). It is the first find we made of tugtupite from an area that was not on Kvanefjeld. We call this pink tugtupite due to the pink fluorescence as opposed to the typical red fluorescence. The bright green fluorescing areas are most likely chkalovite. The dull green fluorescing areas are analcime. The blue is just reflection of the ambient light from the UV source. Close examination will reveal yellow fluorescing polylithionite also.
