Description:
A specimen of Malayaite (CaSn(SiO4)O) from the Meldon Mine, West Devon, Devon, England. The label that came with the specimen gave the location as the Red-a-Ven Mine which is the same as the Meldon Mine according to mindat.org.
Malayaite fluoresces pale yellow under shortwave UV light. It is non-fluorescent under longwave and midwave light. The emission spectrum is a broad peak with a maximum at 500 nm.
