Peach Manganocalcite - South Africa

Contributed by: FMS Admin
Date: May 26th, 2026
Locality: Kalahari manganese field, John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality, Northern Cape, South Africa (See on Mindat)

Description:
Most manganocalcite we've seen is white or off-white. This piece from the Kalahari Fields in South Africa is most definitely a soft, beautiful peach. Therefore, we lead with the natural light shot, followed by shortwave, mid-wave, and long wave. Though the longwave fluorescence is not very bright, it is a unique grape color.
