Contributed by: FMS Admin
Date: May 26th, 2026
Locality: Franklin Mine, Franklin, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA (See on Mindat)
Weight: 15 lb
Description:
Salmon calcite looks like fresh, raw salmon. For the sushi aficionados and fisherman alike, you understand. This piece has veins of salmon calcite within the base matrix of normal calcite and is approximately 15 pounds. It’s a little less bright than the prototypical Franklin calcite but has a very nice glow to it. Small inclusions of franklinite dot the piece.
