Calcite and Scheelite - Tem Piute Mine, Nevada

Contributed by: FMS Admin
Date: May 24th, 2026
Locality: Tem Piute Mining District, Lincoln County, Nevada, USA (See on Mindat)

Description:
The desert Southwest has so much to offer in landscape, wildlife, geology and fluorescent rocks. Here's a nice scheelite and calcite from the Temp Piute Mine, in Rachel Nevada. The scheelite is so blindingly bright, a little post processing was required to bring out the fairly bright calcite and keep them both exposed somewhat properly.
