Locality: Pein-Pyit (Painpyit; Pyan Pyit), Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myanmar (See on Mindat)
Size: 33 x 28 x 61 mm
Weight: 7 g
Description:
Small but really nice specimen, consisting of sodalite var. hackmanite, along with scapolite and feldspar.
The hackmanite shows deep tenebrescence upon exposure to all UV wavelengths and fluoresces quite brightly under longwave. The scapolite fluoresces very bright yellow under longwave, moderately bright yellow under midwave and orange yellow under shortwave. The feldspar fluoresces a dim light blue under longwave, and very dim dull red under shortwave.
