Hydrozincite and Calcite - Goodsprings, Nevada

Contributed by: FMS Admin
Date: May 8th, 2026
Locality: Goodsprings Mining District, Spring Mountains, Clark County, Nevada, USA (See on Mindat)

Description:
Two specimens from the Yellow Pine Mine in Goodsprings, Nevada. The first is both calcite and hydrozincite, and the second is the prototypical hydrozincite from the mine. Very, very bright in shortwave, the calcite adds a little bit of intrigue. If you visit the site, the Pioneer Saloon a few miles from the mine, is an amazing example of the old west.
