Calcite - Chihuahua, Mexico
Contributed by: FMS Admin
Date: May 8th, 2026
Locality: Chihuahua, Mexico (See on Mindat)
Size: 6 inches
Description:
Another specimen from an old collection, this one an interesting calcite from Chihuahua, Mexico. Anyway, though this one looks like it had a run in with vat of acid, it's still pretty cool. The patterns, shapes and tones are really nice. Though brightest in LW, the other wavelengths offer more subtle beauty. The yellow bands are somewhat phosphorescent, but they are not shown here.
