Fluorescent Mineral Database

A new secret project! Trying to create a nice Fluorescent Mineral Database (FMDB), which would be searchable by mineral, locality, and luminescence properties. Also making it easy for people to contribute with their own specimens!

Chalcedony and Unknown - Batallones Hill, Torrejón de Velasco, Madrid, Spain

Contributed by: Daniel C. Montero
Date: May 4th, 2026
Locality: Batallones Hill, Torrejón de Velasco, Community of Madrid, Spain (See on Mindat)
Size: 8 x 10 cm

Description:
This is a really amazing specimen, and it is not only because of its color contrast but also because of its intense glow after SW the matrix stays blue.

Most of the samples that I have collected in this deposit are flint, covered with chalcedony and some aragonite, however only this one and another have this long phosphorescence.
