Fluorescent Mineral Database

A new secret project! Trying to create a nice Fluorescent Mineral Database (FMDB), which would be searchable by mineral, locality, and luminescence properties. Also making it easy for people to contribute with their own specimens!

Emerald Green Sodalite - Tunulliarfik, Greenland

Contributed by: FMS Admin
Date: May 4th, 2026
Locality: Tunulliarfik Fjord, Ilímaussaq complex, Kujalleq, Greenland (See on Mindat)

Description:
Obscure "Emerald Green" sodalite found on the north shore of the Tunulliarfik Fjord, right above "Sodalite Beach" and where the bright pea-green sodalite is found. Only one large boulder of this material was found and was worked by the US expedition led by Mark Cole over a couple of summers. Very bright and gemmy. No tenebrescence is observed.
