Fluorescent Mineral Database

A new secret project! Trying to create a nice Fluorescent Mineral Database (FMDB), which would be searchable by mineral, locality, and luminescence properties. Also making it easy for people to contribute with their own specimens!

Sphalerite & Dolomite from the Raibl Mines, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy

Weight: 265 g

Description:
Rough piece of orange/brown sphalerite/schalenblende intermixed with white dolomite. The sphalerite fluoresces a nice orange, while the dolomite fluoresces white. The fluorescence is best observed under longwave UV light (or even 405nm blue laser). The dolomite is slightly phosphorescent. There are also patches of a metallic mineral, likely galena.
