Fluorescent Mineral Database

A new secret project! Trying to create a nice Fluorescent Mineral Database (FMDB), which would be searchable by mineral, locality, and luminescence properties. Also making it easy for people to contribute with their own specimens!

Locality: Picacho Mine (Ramirez Consolidated Mine; Picachos Mine; Los Picachos Mine; Picahotes Mine; Benta Mine; Hernandez Mine; Ramirez Mine; Bonanza Mine), Picacho Peak, San Benito County, California, USA (See on Mindat)
Size: 7 x 5 x 9 x cm
Weight: 183.95 g

Description:
Yellow carpathite crystals coated by quartz. Quite nice how some crystals are fully exposed, some completely embedded in a quartz \"pipe\", and some where the \"pipe\" is broken, showing the carpathite inside. Under UV light the carpathite fluoresces very bright blue, especially under longwave UV. A few little red dots of cinnabar are also visible here and there, not fluorescent.
