At the Pacific Northwest Friends of Mineralogy Symposium

The Pacific Northwest Friends of Mineralogy (PNWFM) will be having their 37th Annual Symposium on "Famous Mineral Locations of Mexico" at the Red Lion Inn, Kelso, WA.  Freatured speakers will be:

Dr. Peter Megaw

Tom Moore

The PNWFM and the NW FMS Chapter are inviting you to display your fluorescent minerals (from any location) in a special dark room as part of the symposium.  In connection with the displaying of fluorescent minerals, the NW FMS Chapter will be having a meeting on Friday, October 14, 2011.  There will be a fee for attending the two-day symposium, but the FMS meeting is free.

The tentative agenda for the NW FMS Chapter meeting is:

6:00 PM       Meet in the Alter Room on Fri.

6:15-6:30     Introduction of everyone

6:30-7:00     FMS announcements & business

7:00-7:30     Reverse auction of minerals by FMS members (1/2 the funds go to the FMS).  Some esperite and other valuable minerals will be auctioned.

7:30-8:00     Show 'N Tell, bring any specimens to show.

8:00-8:30     Free door prizes.  As usually at the NW FMS meetings the one coming the farthest gets first choice.
