2014 FMS Annual Meeting Invitation - Feb 14 in Tucson

The Southwest Fluorescent Finders Chapter is pleased to host the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Fluorescent Mineral Society. For our convenience, the Hospitality Guild of the Church will offer a meal service at nominal cost starting at 6:00 p.m.
At 6:15, Dr. Ted Bornhorst, Director, A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum will present “The Fluorescent Mineral Display at the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum.”
A brief Business Meeting will be held following the meal, at about 6:45 p.m., after people have arrived from the TGMS Show at the Convention Center.  The business meeting will be followed by two additional presentations and the usual activities, which include announcements, door prizes, and a silent auction. Ample time will be allowed for swapping and selling.
At 8:00 p.m., Dr. Jeff Post, Curator, National Gem & Mineral Collection, Smithsonian Institution, will present “Fluorescent Gems at the Smithsonian Institution.”  
At 8:45 p.m., Dr. Henry Barwood, Professor of Earth Science, Troy University. “Using a 405 nm Laser to Fluoresce Microminerals.”
*The Church of the Painted Hills is located on the left (South) side of the Speedway Boulevard approximately 3.2 miles west of the intersection with I-10.

9:15 p.m. – Door Prizes
