In this photo, multiple exposures are merged using the "enfuse" algorithm, originally developed for blending stitched panorama images. This method actually bypasses the HDR linearization and tone-mapping steps. Due to a minor error in the program (weighting luminance by green response), it unfortunately tends to select overexposed pixels in saturated red and blue areas. It does have the advantage of avoiding the halos and excessive noise seen in other HDR algorithms.
