This rock was collected in June 2010 by me in the Buckwheat dump in Franklin, NJ. I assume there is calcite and willemite, but I am unsure of the other minerals. Anyone have any ideas or things I should do to find an accurate answer?
Trancas Geode - regular light
Trancas Geode - regular light. This 4in x 2.5 in geode is quite interesting, with ripples and protrusions. (The other half is not nearly as interesting)
Trancas Geode - SW light
Trancas Geode - SW light. As with all trancas geodes, this one fluoresces brilliant green inside and out. However, it also seems to have something else in it, probably calcite.
Doug, these are the sexiest photos of a fluorescent mineral that I've ever seen. The specimen is beautiful. The images are crisp, with excellent depth of field, and peering into the (noiseless) phosphorescence is like lifting a veil. Wow. Thank you!
