FMS - The Fluorescent Mineral Society

A recent pair of articles in "Rocks & Minerals" magazine mentioned fluorescent tourmaline, that got me to wondering about mine.  Some of mine is, I have added some photos to my gallery.  The tourmaline fluorescence is not notable for it's color, the discussion was whether the origin of a tourmaline could be determined by its fluorescence.

The background for these pictures isn't up to par, I keep the stones in Riker Mounts, which come with a white polyester filler.  I dyed them, but it looks like more dye will be necessary.

I also added shots of a barite rock from near Palo Verde.  clearly I need to learn HDR photography to capture this one.

These pictures are just intended as a survey, if there is interest in a more detailed shot of any particular stone, let me know.
